诫外甥书

诸葛亮（三国）

夫志当存高远，慕先贤，绝情欲，弃凝滞，使庶几之志，揭然有所存，恻然有所感；忍屈伸，去细碎，广咨问，除嫌吝，虽有淹留，何损于美趣，何患于不济。

若志不强毅，意不慷慨，徒碌碌滞于俗，默默束于情，永窜伏于凡庸，不免于下流矣！

这是诸葛亮写给外甥庞涣的一封信，全信86个字，却掷地有声，影响后世1700多年。庞涣，字世文，曾官至郡太守，是诸葛亮二姐的儿子。

You should aim for the highest, look up to the sages of the past,ride of desires,let go of worldly concerns,

keep the aspiration lofty and hold it dear;If you can tolerate the loss and gain,ignore trifles,expand consulting， though there may be stagnation,they bring no loss to your virtue.Why worry about frustration and destitution?

If someone is neither strong-minded nor broad-minded,merely engaged with worldly affairs,bound by worldly concerns,permanently hidden in mediocre folks,surely he is bound to fall.
